Shoulders & upper trapezius

Guide a very light bell around your head with both hands. Keep your head still and trunk upright as your shoulders guide a comfortable circle.

How to do it

  1. Hold a light bell

Grip both horns with the round body above the handle. Hold it at your chest with feet about shoulder-width apart.

  2. Pass one shoulder

Brace your middle and guide the bell beside your right shoulder and ear. Bend your elbows and keep the weight clear of your head.

  3. Circle back to your chest

Move behind your head and past the left shoulder to the starting position. Keep your ribs controlled and use a comfortable shoulder range.

  4. Reverse the direction

Finish the circles smoothly, pause at your chest and repeat in the other direction. Guide the bell down with both hands after the set.

Keep in mind

  • Use a very light bell and slow, deliberate circles.
  • Let your arms travel around a still head.

Watch out for

  • Ducking your head or leaning to make room.
  • Rushing the circle or letting the bell touch your head.
