Triceps

Bend and straighten your elbows with one light bell held in both hands. Keep your upper arms steady and your trunk tall.

How to do it

  1. Secure a light bell

Hold the handle firmly in both hands. Stand balanced with feet hip-width apart and brace your middle.

  2. Bring it overhead

Guide the bell overhead with both hands. Keep your upper arms beside your ears, wrists steady and ribs over your hips.

  3. Bend at the elbows

Lower the bell behind your head within a comfortable range, stopping before your upper arms move backward. Keep it clear of your head.

  4. Extend smoothly

Straighten your elbows without snapping them or arching your back. After the set, bring the bell down under control with both hands.

Find your form

Keep in mind

  • Keep elbows facing forward and about shoulder-width apart.
  • Use a bell you can comfortably position overhead.

Watch out for

  • Flaring your ribs or leaning backward.
  • Letting elbows spread widely or the bell touch your head.
