Goblet kettlebell side lunge with one knee bent, opposite leg long and both feet flat; working quadriceps, glutes and inner thighs highlighted coral.
Working quadriceps, glutes & adductors

Step sideways with a bell held close to your chest. Sit back over the stepping leg while the other leg stays long.

How to do it

  1. Hold the bell close

Grip the horns with both hands at your chest. Stand hip-width apart, feet facing forward, and brace your middle.

  2. Step to the side

Take a controlled step to your right, keeping both heels grounded and feet mostly forward.

  3. Sit back over that leg

Bend the right hip and knee while keeping the left leg nearly straight. Let the right knee follow your toes and keep your back long.

  4. Push back to standing

Press through the right foot to return. Finish that side, then repeat to the left with the bell close throughout.

Keep in mind

  • Use a shorter step if your knee falls inside your foot.
  • Practice without a bell until the sideways shift feels steady.

Watch out for

  • Rolling onto the inside edge of either foot.
  • Dropping too deeply or bending both knees into a sumo squat.
